Riley has been spending his Saturday mornings this month at a clay class. He is used to doing more physical activities, but he did great!
WEEK 1:
At first, he thought the clay was sticky and did not want to get dirty. That lasted all of three minutes! By the time I rolled it out for him, he was ready to start experimenting. Riley did two projects this week. This one we did together. He cut out all of the shapes, while I attached them and did the writing.
This one he did all by himself, so of course it is a keeper!
WEEK 2:
Riley spent a lot of time doing various things with his clay this week, nothing we could consider an actual project though. Towards the end of class we decided to do a handprint.
WEEK 3:
We brought Daddy with us this week to give him a break from hanging out at home. All of our projects had been fired, so it was time to paint/glaze them. Riley got outfitted for the occasion and was ready to get to work!I painted the handprint and Riley continued to work on his original creation all by himself.
Daddy and Riley worked together to paint the third project. Now for another round of firing.
WEEK 4:
The final week Riley worked with terracotta clay. We got to bring home our previous three projects. The project from this week has to be fired, so they will let us know when it is ready.
Delaney’s Saturdays:
Delaney spent most of the Saturday mornings at Uncle David and Aunt Kristy’s house. In fact, whenever we would drop her off, Riley wanted to stay there too. On more than one occasion he tried to con Uncle David into getting him out of the car by giving him instructions on how to undo his car seat, “Uncle David, push right here on the red button.” Of course, Riley did get out of the car to play for a little bit when we went to pick Delaney up. No surprise, Delaney had a blast playing with Beau and Cole! I was, however, rather surprised Aunt Kristy got her to nap on the floor! Impressive!
