~We almost had a HUGE mishap! I was pretty positive when he got his flu shot a few months ago, the nurse told me he wouldn’t be due for shots until he was five. So prior to this appointment, when Riley asked if was getting shots, I told him no that Dr. George just wanted to measure him and make sure he was healthy. When the nurse called us back to an exam room, Riley would not pass through the door until he was sure she understood exactly what he was there for and there absolutely would not be any shots! This is when she dropped the bomb on me that he was due for FIVE, oops! Dr. George to the rescue! Riley was technically two days shy of four years old at the appointment and the state of Washington only recognizes the shots if they are administered at four years old.
~Delaney used to be inconsolable whenever a doctor walked in a room, even if it wasn’t her appointment. Whether it’s age or Dr. George, she has made huge strides each time we go to his office (even if it’s not her appointment), and he humors her requests. At her two year checkup, she brought her doll and had him do each step of the exam on the doll first, then on her. At Riley’s appointment, she was not going to be left out! She paid close attention to whatever Dr. George wanted Riley to do and made sure she followed the instructions as well. I ended up with a two for one checkup :)
